Nicolás Higuaín: "Gonzalo is close to Arsenal"

Gonzalo Higuaín is close to becoming an Arsenal player according to comments attributed to the player's brother and agent Nicolás Higuaín on 'Todomercadoweb'. "With Tévez going to Juventus, I think Gonzalo is closer to Arsenal", he said.

"Napoli is a strong club that means a lot to Argentineans but I can't deny that Arsenal is the most important option", Higuaín said.

The Real Madrid forward confirmed at the end of the season that he would be leaving the club. Arsenal and Juventus had shown the most interest in the player. However if the Turin club finally close the deal with Tévez it would lead to the transfer of the Argentinean to the London club.
